For years I have been cursing the pieces of plywood covering the deck hatch openings. Besides being a trip-hazard, they still manage to let in a bit of moisture and cold air during the winter. But, no more. Two proper deck hatches installed. These are your basic Lewmar Ocean 60 hatches. Both thru-bolted requiring only one-person-one-tool to remove as the bolts are backed with tee nuts glued to the underside. For now, the hatch frames are bedded with hardware store outdoor weather stripping. Later, after finish paint, they will be bedded with butyl tape.
